Fat transfer breast augmentation is an interesting alternative for patients who are only looking for moderate augmentation and have the necessary fat deposits in other places. During this procedure, the volume of the breasts is increased by transferring fat from other areas of the body.
The procedure offers a variety of benefits. One is the double effect on the patient’s body. Since the patient’s own fat is used to enhance the breasts, the plastic surgeon removes it beforehand from the usual problem areas like the abdomen, hips or thighs. This means two goals can be achieved in one treatment:
The patient’s silhouette is improved and the breasts are enhanced.
The result looks and feels completely natural and does not reveal any aesthetic correction. There is no scarring; the injection sites normally heal very well and can barely be seen, if at all.
As with the traditional breast augmentation using silicone implants, we also offer a preoperative analysis with the world’s most advanced computer-assisted 3D camera system VECTRA XT for the fat transfer treatment. This allows the patient to see an exact version of their anatomy and a realistic simulation of the possible result in advance.
Before the actual breast augmentation, the required fat needs to be removed from an area of the body that has sufficient fat reserves. Very slim patients therefore cannot undergo fat transfer breast augmentation.
The removed fat is prepared and then injected into the breast tissue using the finest cannulas. Since the body breaks down part of its own fat (around 30%), this is taken into account when planning the treatment. Up to one cup size bigger can be achieved in one session.
The entire procedure is performed under twilight anaesthesia and takes around 2 hours, including preparation. It is therefore not necessary to stay overnight at the clinic. Patients are required to wear special compression clothing and avoid exercising for around 6 weeks.
Health risks with this method are almost non-existent and are very rare. Any initial hardening, a numb feeling or bruising disappear completely. In some cases, another appointment may be required.
The result of a fat transfer breast augmentation is permanent. However, if the patient loses a lot of weight, the fatty tissue can also be reduced, as in all other parts of the body. Therefore, this treatment is best suited to patients who can maintain a stable body weight.
Fat transfer breast augmentation at the Klinik am Rhein costs €5500. This includes all expenses for preoperative fat preparation in the laboratory, the anaesthesia administered by a specialist as well as all aftercare check-ups. A customised compression bra is also included in the price.
